About Deptford Day |
|
Deptford Day is held the third Saturday in May every year. The purpose of the day is to build a unity within the township, have an entertaining day for all residents and friends, and allow local service organizations to raise funds. The day kicks off at 10:00am with The Al Cunard Memorial Parade. This year the parade consists of more than 80 groups including String Bands, Little Mr. & Miss Deptford Day 2011, area mascots, local civic & sports organizations, fire and police apparatus, pageant winners, and so much more! After the parade, the festivities move into Fasola Park. Opening Ceremonies kick off at 11:45am on the lower level stage. Around the park you will find vendors with offerings including various food items, games of chance, and crafts galore. Don’t forget to stop by the Deptford Day Committee tent to pick up a raffle ticket or two! Check back often to see an updated prize list. On the lower level stage will be various acts to be announced at a later date. Last years acts included a Zumba Dance class, karate school, and musical acts of every type. We are delighted to welcome back as our headliner again this year, Cry Wolf Live. This local rock band guarantees to entertain the crowd before and through our fireworks extravaganza. Enjoy the show this year while the music plays! |
